چکیده
Flash floods are the most dangerous kinds of because they combine destructive power a flood with incredible speed. They occur when heavy rainfall exceeds ability ground to absorb it. The main aim this study is generate flash maps using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Frequency Ratio (FR) models in river’s floodplain between Jhelum River Chenab rivers. A total eight flood-causative physical parameters considered for study. Six based on remote sensing images Advanced Land Observation Satellite (ALOS), Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Sentinel-2 Satellite, which include slope, elevation, distance from stream, drainage density, flow accumulation, land use/land cover (LULC), respectively. other two soil geology, consist different rock formations, In case AHP, each criteria allotted an estimated weight according its significant importance occurrence floods. end, all were integrated weighted overlay analysis influence value density was given highest weight. shows that 2500 m river has values FR ranging 0.54, 0.56, 1.21, 1.26, 0.48, output zones categorized into very low, moderate, high, high risk, covering 7354, 5147, 3665, 2592, 1343 km2, Finally, results show areas or 6.68% area. Mangla, Marala, Trimmu valleys identified as high-risk area, have been damaged drastically many times by It provides policy guidelines risk managers, emergency disaster response services, urban infrastructure planners, hydrologists, climate scientists.

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Floods are one of the natural events that cause human casualties and damage to buildings, facilities, gardens, fields, and natural resources every year. Urbanization disturbs the balance of slopes through indirect intrusion within watersheds, kills vegetation, soil compaction, and changes in the profile of waterways, increases the severity of floods, and incr...
متن کاملA GIS-based comparative study of the analytic hierarchy process, bivariate statistics and frequency ratio methods for landslide susceptibility mapping in part of the Tehran metropolis, Iran
The high hillsides of the Tehran metropolis are prone to landslides due to the climatic conditions and the geological, geomorphologicalcharacteristics of the region. Therefore, it is vitally important that a landslide susceptibility map of the region be prepared. For thispurpose, thematic layers including landslide inventory, lithology, slope, aspect, curvature, distance to stream, distance to ...

This study focused on producing flash flood hazard susceptibility maps (FFHSM) using frequency ratio (FR) and statistical index (SI) models in the Xiqu Gully (XQG) of Beijing, China. First, a total of 85 flash flood hazard locations (n = 85) were surveyed in the field and plotted using geographic information system (GIS) software. Based on the flash flood hazard locations, a flood hazard invent...
متن کاملComprehensive Multi-Criteria Comparison and Ranking of Natural Gas Liquefaction Process by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)
Several processes have been proposed for natural gas liquefaction due to the vast utilization of LNG as a reliable and relatively easy to use fuel. Even though the merits and demerits of different process have been studied, a dearth of comprehensive technical and economical comparative investigation of these methods makes further broad examination a necessity. This article is presented to addre...
